{"id":9218,"date":"2023-06-27T18:27:20","date_gmt":"2023-06-27T15:27:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/34.254.238.112\/ke\/?post_type=jobs&#038;p=9218"},"modified":"2023-06-27T18:30:49","modified_gmt":"2023-06-27T15:30:49","slug":"risk-compliance-officer-2","status":"publish","type":"jobs","link":"https:\/\/webuat.gakenya.com\/ke\/jobs\/risk-compliance-officer-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Risk &#038; Compliance Officer"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>JOB DESCRIPTION<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Job Title:<\/strong> Risk &amp; Compliance Officer<\/p>\n<p><strong>Reports To:<\/strong> GM: Risk &amp; Compliance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Department:<\/strong> Risk &amp; Compliance<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Summary: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To initiate, implement and liaison with the respective functional heads, manage the risk and compliance initiatives for GA.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Duties and Responsibilities: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develops and monitors risk registers for all departments and performs risk assessments for new products and vendors.<\/li>\n<li>Prepares risk register reports and analysis for review by the manager.<\/li>\n<li>Develop Templates for Data Collection and assisting with the mapping.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor, and as necessary, coordinate risk and compliance activities through respective departments to ensure GA remains abreast of the status of all insurance related risks &amp; compliance activities.<\/li>\n<li>Follow up of any identified deficiencies and make recommendations for amendment.<\/li>\n<li>Implement the risks and compliance policies and procedures in place.<\/li>\n<li>Provide reports on a monthly and quarterly basis, and as directed or requested.<\/li>\n<li>Provide relevant information required by external bodies and regulators on compliance matters such as reporting suspicious transactions related to money laundering and the fight against terrorism financing.<\/li>\n<li>Act as the contact point for data subjects and the Office of the Data Commissioner.<\/li>\n<li>Monitor the performance of the compliance program and related activities on a continuous basis, taking appropriate steps to improve its effectiveness.<\/li>\n<li>Guiding various departments on the implementation of the Data Privacy requirements and supporting then to ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that IT systems and procedures comply with all relevant data privacy and protection law, regulation, and policy.<\/li>\n<li>Implementing an effective risk training program as will be developed.<\/li>\n<li>Keep abreast with the applicable laws, regulations, rules, and standards in the risk &amp; compliance fraternity and advise on the emerging developments of the same.<\/li>\n<li>Team participation both within the department and other departments.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Job Holder Specifications: <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Education\/Qualifications: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Bachelor\u2019s degree in Law, Finance, IT or its equivalent from a recognized institution.<\/li>\n<li>Risk Certification or Equivalent Professional qualification.<\/li>\n<li>Member of a professional body e.g., ISACA etc. will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Working Experience: <\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>3 &#8211; 5 years\u2019 experience.<\/li>\n<li>Background in the financial industry will be an added advantage.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Competencies <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Strong analytical and organizational skills.<\/li>\n<li>Personal attributes: integrity, dependable, initiative-taking, results-oriented, creative, and strong interpersonal skills.<\/li>\n<li>Ability to operationalize strategy into action for the function.<\/li>\n<li>Effective communication skills, both verbal &amp; written.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>If you meet the above minimum requirements, send your C.V to careers@gakenya.com indicate the position applied for on the email subject line to be received on or before 4th July 2023.
